
Experienced professional Kathy Husser has led a long career in the library industry.
Kathy is a dignified and experienced administrator who has led a number of successful teams throughout her career in the private and public sectors Her most recent position was as the Community Services Deputy Director at the Tempe Public Library in Arizona. She was responsible for a $3.5 million wage and operating budget, 50+ staff, and a rebranded library website which increased traffic for the city by 35%. She also secured more than $153,000 in grant funding and donations for programs and improvements to the facility. These funds built the new Youth Department Learning Lab, a new “Tween” Space, and purchased brand new children’s computers. During her tenure, the library became one of only three organizations in Arizona that were nominated for the Institute of Museum & Library Services National Medal in the past 28 years.
